The project will continuously search for publications on thermal energy systems in scholarly databases. The most relevant publications on the topic in respect to the project’s focus areas are presented here.

With the intention of contributing to the development of a sustained competitive sector of district heating and combined heat and power, this project has developed and launched a knowledge platform for exchange of knowledge and monitoring of related research. One of the main objectives of the project has been to monitor the international research on thermal energy systems such as district heating and district cooling applying various methods for searching, retrieving and analyzing information. Hence, a substantial part of the project has been devoted to monitoring international research in relation to thermal energy systems. Therefore, in parallel to developing and building this platform, there has been a continuous work on searching for scientific publications within the field of thermal energy systems. The work of searching, collecting and analyzing research and knowledge in the area of thermal energy systems has been based on the described future challenges in the Swedish district heating sector, which also links to the three focus areas on which the project has concentrated the work: Customer solutions and business models, Flexible response to demand and digitization, and Policy instrument. Monitoring of scientific publications has been conducted since August 2019 and the result of published scientific articles is presented below, sorted based on the above stated focus areas.
