Programme

Vibrations in Nuclear Applications

The Vibrations in Nuclear Power programme produce and provide knowledge on operational problems related to vibrations. This knowledge is valuable in maintaining safe, efficient operation and in decision processes for investments.

Vibrations in components in a Nuclear power plant can result in production distribution and loss of income from the facility. However, there is lacking knowledge within this field amongst manufacturers and consultancies on how to best manage these issues. The research in this programme is foremost dedicated to providing research and knowledge on the most recent developments and equipment testing for piping, generators, and turbines.

The programme's main focus areas are:

  • Digitalized vibration management
  • Technical challenges
  • Implementation and knowledge transfer
